CHESTER — One man is in critical condition and another suffered a leg wound in a pair of shootings Sunday night in the city. Both are city residents.

Police were called to the 2000 block of Edgmont Avenue at about 8:45 p.m. Sunday for a report of a shooting victim, according to a release from Chester Police Capt. James Chubb.

Officers found a man later identified as 23-year-old Keenan Mason lying in the doorway of 2035 Edgmont Ave. with a gunshot wound to his head. Paramedics from Crozer-Chester Medical Center arrived and began to treat the victim, who was transported to Crozer for further treatment. Mason remained listed in critical condition as of Monday morning.

Police were also dispatched to the 400 block of Frank Young Avenue for a report of another shooting victim at 12:04 a.m. Monday. Arriving officers on that call located a victim in a residence sitting on a chair in the kitchen area.

The victim, who was alert and conscious, was identified as Dallas Womack, 18, who had suffered a gunshot wound to his left thigh area. Paramedics treated Womack on scene before transferring him to Crozer as well. Womack was listed in good condition Monday.
