Car into building

Several people were inside the doctor’s office on Tuesday morning when a vehicle hit the storefront, breaking the glass and injuring one man who was seated in the waiting room. He was transported to the hospital. No other injuries were reported.

SPRINGFIELD — One person was injured after a driver crashed into an orthodontic office building in the 100 block of South State Road Tuesday morning, officials said.

Springfield police, Springfield Fire Company and Springfield Ambulance responded to the office building at about 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the Springfield Shopping Center. Several people were inside the doctor’s office when the vehicle hit the storefront, breaking the glass and injuring one man who was seated in the waiting room. He was transported to the hospital. No other injuries were reported.

Several people who were in the area at the time had called 911 and checked on the driver, who was not injured.
