Theft

  • A resident of the 200 block Sedgewood Rd., Springfield, reported that a package delivered to his house was stolen from the property on July 1 at 1:37 p.m.
  • A female reported that while eating at the Panera Bread, 1000 block Baltimore Pike, Springfield, on July 5 at 5:50 p.m., someone removed her wallet from her purse, and credit cards were used at various stores. Det. Devaney is investigating. 
  • A male subject reported his bike was stolen from the 900 block of Baltimore Pike, Springfield, on July 7 at 12:41 p.m., as he shopped inside a store.

Retail Theft

  • Officers responded to the Ulta Store in the Springfield Mall on July 3 at 12:55 p.m., for a report of a woman stealing perfume. They observed the female outside trying to leave and stopped her. She was identified as the thief and taken into custody. It was also found that she had stolen perfume the day before as well. The 26-year-old from Drexel Hill was charged with Retail Theft and held for arraignment.
  • Security at Target at the Springfield Mall reported a male subject had just stolen over $200 worth of baby formula and left the store in a waiting vehicle on July 4 at 3:11 p.m. A short time later, the same vehicle was involved in a theft in Marple Twp., and the vehicle was stopped. Witnesses identified the two male subjects as stealing the formula from Target and both were taken into custody. The 39-year-old male resident of Upper Darby and the 36-year-old male resident of Clifton Heights were charged with Retail Theft and held for arraignment.
  • A 43-year-old Philadelphia woman was arrested on July 4 at 7:12 p.m., and charged with Retail Theft after security from Target at Springfield Mall reported they observed her stealing a canopy from the Sporting Goods Dept. She was held for arraignment.
