Theft

  • Officers were called to the area of the 500 block Glendale Cir. to investigate a male subject looking through parked vehicles at 1:41 p.m., June 25. Officer Francis arrived and located a male walking away from a parked vehicle which had its interior light on. The male was found to have a large amount of loose coins in his pockets and inside a bag he was carrying. Officers had taken several reports of vehicles entered in the area in which money was taken from inside. The 25-year-old male resident of Philadelphia was taken into custody and charged with Theft and other offenses. He was held for arraignment. 
  • On June 25 at 10:45 p.m., a victim reported being at the Wawa store, 100 block of Saxer Ave., where he left his bicycle outside unattended. When he came back outside, he observed a male subject walking away with the bike and placing it inside a van. The van then drove away. Officers tracked down the van in Morton and identified those inside, a 17-year-old male from Morton and a 16-year-old male from Darby. However, they did not locate the bike. During a follow-up, Det. McNeely recovered the bike from the Darby male. Charges were filed.

Retail Theft

  • Springfield Township Police Officers responded to a report from the Giant Store, 700 block W. Sproul Rd., on June 24 at 8:36 a.m., after two females entered the store and stole over $600 worth of beauty supplies. Sgt. J.DiTrolio is investigating.
  • A 31-year-old male resident of California was arrested and charged with Retail Theft at 3:17 p.m., June 24, after being observed by security officers at Target, 800 block of Baltimore Pk. stealing over $700 worth of children’s clothing. He was held for arraignment.
  • A 30-year-old female resident of Darby was arrested and charged with Retail Theft at 6:39 p.m. June 30, after being observed at Target, 800 block Baltimore Pk. stealing over $350 worth of jewelry. She was taken into custody and held for arraignment.

Criminal Mischief

  • On June 24, at 9:14 a.m., a resident of the 600 block Old Schoolhouse Lane reported his mailbox and post were knocked to the ground some time over the weekend.

Fraud

  • Springfield Police Officers were called to the Santander Bank, 100 block S. State Rd., to investigate a subject attempting to cash a fraudulent check at 5:13 p.m., June 27. Officers responded and identified the subject inside the bank and stopped two others inside in a vehicle which was observed leaving the area. All three subjects were arrested and charged with Theft and Fraud offenses. A 22-year-old male from Philadelphia, a 21-year-old male from Philadelphia and an 18-year-old male resident of Plymouth Meeting, were held for arraignment at Springfield Court.

Assault

  • Springfield Police Officers responded to the 700 block W. Springfield Rd. for a report of a male and female fighting at 4:17 a.m., June 29. The female was found to have been assaulted by the male after an argument on the 700 block Parker Lane. The female was taken to the hospital for treatment, and the 32-year-old male was arrested and charged with Assault. He was held for arraignment.
