CHESTER >> Police are looking for information on a shooting that took place early Friday morning in area of Morton and Johnson streets.
Officers were dispatched the area at about 7:03 a.m. for a report of a gunshot victim. Residents directed the responding officers to a victim inside an address in the 1000 block of Baldwin Street, according to a release from Chester Police Detective Division Captain James Chubb.
The victim, a 22-year-old black male, was shot three times in the left wrist, right elbow and right wrist, according to the release. He told officers he was walking down Johnson Street when he heard gunshots. The victim said he took off running and did not bother looking back, according to the release.
Two parked vehicles and two occupied structures in the area were also struck with gunfire, according to the release, but no further injuries were reported.
The victim was transported to Crozer-Chester Medical Center by paramedics, where he was treated for his injuries and is listed in good condition.
Investigators learned that a black Ford SUV could have been involved and a vehicle matching that description was seen traveling west on Route 291.
“The vehicle was said to have traveled north on to Parker Street, then West on to Mary Street,” the release states. “The vehicle was located at Parker and Mary streets, still running, but unoccupied.”
