The high school holds an incoming freshmen summer enrichment camp 9 a.m.-noon Aug. 21-25. Cost is $85 per student. The academy announces that Paul Sanders joined the Episcopal Academy community in July as the new Assistant Head of School.
Sanders most recently served as the Head of Upper School (grades 6-12) at the International School of Amsterdam. Before that, he served as Head of Middle and Upper School at The Dwight School in New York where he also served as English Department Chair, directed summer camp operations, and established a residential summer leadership program for students. He has also taught English and coached track and field at Great Valley High School in Malvern.
Sanders earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and his master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He grew up in Bucks County and is happy to be back in the area. He is an excellent leader with strong values, and a passion for teaching. The Episcopal Academy is thrilled to welcome him to the community.

The Haverford School begins its 134th year Sept. 6 and welcome 970 students. The boys return to a campus that includes a state-of-the art indoor climbing wall, designed to teach pre-k-12 students about resilience, teamwork, and perseverance; a renovated Learning Garden (Lower School boys are growing cantaloupe); and 30,000 bees housed in three hives, which will be integrated into the science curriculum.
The Haverford School’s Best for Boys speaker series invites the community to learn about topics and practices that help foster the social, emotional, and academic growth of young boys. The next lecture, “Lead Well, Be Well, Do Well,” is Oct. 14 from 9-11 a.m. in the Upper School’s Ball Auditorium. Bill Brady, Haverford School Director of Leadership Programs, and Laurie Bodine, organizational behavior and leadership strategist, are the speakers. The event is free and open to the public.

Mandatory re-registration is required for high school freshman students scheduled to begin ninth grade at Penn Wood High School in September. Re-registration by a parent or guardian must be completed before the start of school.
Parents of rising freshman should have received a registration packet with information about the required documentation needed in the mail before the end of the 2016-2017 school year. Parents/Guardians should complete the registration forms, obtain the required supporting documents, and call the Registration Office at 610-284-8005 ext. 1234 to schedule an appointment to complete the re-registration process.
Penn Wood High School freshman who have not been reregistered by the start of the 2017-2018 school year will not be admitted to school until the re-registration process has been completed.
