UPPER DARBY — Monica Taylor’s election to Delaware County Council has left a vacancy in the Upper Darby School Board.
The board has publicly advertised the vacancy to solicit persons to apply to fill Taylor’s unexpired term through the first Monday of Dec. 2021. Candidates must be 18 years old, a U.S. citizen and a district resident for at least one year. All school directors serve in an at-large role representing Upper Darby and the boroughs of Clifton Heights and Millbourne.
Official application documents can be found at www.upperdarbysd.org/boardvacancy. The documents must be sent to board secretary Craig Rogers before noon on Jan. 16.
Democrat Taylor was in the middle of her first term on the school board before she won election to county council in November. She was also the board's appointed member to serve on the Delaware County Intermediate Unit's board.
