Local artist's work on display in Swarthmore

"Blue Rooster" by Kathy Agostinelli

An exhibition of original paintings and mixed media by local artist Kathy Agostinelli will be on display through Jan. 30 at Swarthmore Borough Hall, 121 Park Ave., Swarthmore.

The exhibit is free, kid friendly and open to the public.

The exhibit presents artwork by Agostinelli, primarily oil on canvas.

"I was exploring spirituality and found myself painting a lot of birds, as well as other animals," Agostinelli said. "I've recently turned to trees, as I see them as portraits. I also like the landscape. I will never be able to settle for one genre because I love them all."

Agostinelli holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. She has also attended classes at Fleisher Art Memorial and Rosemont College and has an associate's in graphic design from Delaware County Community College. Agostinelli exhibits locally in Delaware County and has worked as a faux finisher and muralist.

Exhibit hours are Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m.

The exhibit is sponsored by Swarthmore Friends of the Arts.
