The GFWC Woman’s Club of Newtown Square handed out 50 awards for excellence in art and writing to students from Marple Newtown public and private schools. The event was the culmination of the annual competition run by the Woman’s Club, and managed this year by Paula Jackson, Fine Arts Chair and Chris Spagna, Essay Contest Chair. Nearly 200 students, parents and educators attended the awards night held at Culbertson Elementary School. The art teachers include Karen Can (Marple Newtown High School), Jill Bialy (Culbertson Elementary), Vickie Israel (Worrell Elementary), Kim Trigone (Loomis Elementary), Diane Blickle (Paxon Hollow Middle School), Dierdre Selig (Russell Elementary) and Sandra Jahnle (St. Anastasia School).
