Springfield's St. Patrick’s Day parade coming March 12!

The 33rd annual Springfield Township St. Patrick’s Day Parade, will be held on Saturday, March 12 starting at noon.  The parade is sponsored by the Parade Committee, the Springfield Rotary Club, and GSBA (Greater Springfield Business Association.) The parade will start on West Springfield Road and Britton Road, proceed down Springfield Road to Saxer Avenue, turn right onto Saxer Avenue, proceed down Saxer past the reviewing stand in front of Old Central School, and end at Saxer  and Powell Road.

The parade will include high school marching bands, string bands, a pipe and drum group, Veteran’s organizations, Ancient Order of Hibernian and Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernian divisions, dance groups, Boy and Girl Scout groups, fire companies, civic and community groups, and several business organizations. Pre-Parade entertainment (music and Irish step dancers) will be provided at the reviewing stand starting at 11:30 a.m. The 2011 Grand Marshal will be announced shortly. To enter a group in the parade, contact Steve Burns at 610-566-0247.
